Duke Nukem Forever... Finally... maybe...

Posted at: February 7, 2008 @10:02AM by Staggs in Games

There has been a single game that always had gamers chuckling whenever mentioning its title along with the words "to be released." That game is Duke Nukem Forever, a game dating back to 1996 that was set to be revolutionary in the FPS category. However, the game has never made it out of production, with some blips of hope every once and a while. Maybe this time its as true as ever. In an email interview with 3D Realms President Scott Miller at Dallas Business Journal, he mentions the game having another internal push:

Scott Miller wrote:
We can't make an official announcement. Frankly, we may miss the mark by a month or two, but I feel very confident that we're on target this time.

We're really excited about bringing classic Duke to the 360, we're talking to Microsoft about getting a release slot sometime this year.

No more status updates for Xbox Live

Posted at: January 13, 2008 @9:01PM by Staggs in Xbox Live

We last updated that Xbox Live was facing outages and the team was doing their best to ease the pain and fix the problems. In the meantime, they were posting updates on the status of the service. Now however, a class-action lawsuit for Microsoft has come into play from the citizens of Texas, which resulted after the outages occurred, has created a halt on these updates. Due to the lawsuits, Microsoft is obligated to keep their mouths shut on updates about the health of Xbox Live, and whether it is fixed or being close to fixed. More updates on this soon...  News Source

Xbox Live faces outtages

Posted at: January 6, 2008 @11:01AM by Staggs in Xbox Live

The holidays have come, and so have some problems, at least for the Xbox Live team over at Microsoft. New registrations for the online service has skyrocketed, resulting in record breaking, and history making, as well as outages and frustrated customers.

Since the holidays, Xbox Live has been facing numerous problems with matchmaking, leaderboards, and a list of problems that gamers have encountered. Microsoft has since stepped up and said they understand the problems, and are, as they have always, working on the problems. Marc Whitten, general manager for Xbox Live, has stated the following in a press release on Thursday:

Marc Whitten wrote:
At the same time we would like to offer a token of our appreciation to all of you in celebration of record success for the service. And as a thank you for your loyalty during this holiday period, we will be offering all of our Xbox LIVE members around the world access to a full Xbox LIVE Arcade game that will be available to download free of charge. In the coming weeks we will be sharing the specific details of this offer with you.

Happy 2008

Posted at: December 31, 2007 @11:01PM by Staggs in GXN

Happy New Year, and Happy Holidays folks. I hope everyone has had a wonderful year, and many more to come. It has been a while since our last update, but as a resolution for the new year, I'm going to try to complete my projects, and grow them more personally. Put more time, effort, and care into my own work. With that said, expect more updates in the coming week as I begin again to resurrect the site, and give it a bigger footprint than it had before.

Once again, stay safe and we'll see you again soon.

In case you are wondering

Posted at: March 6, 2007 @5:03PM by Staggs in GXN

...we have been working on updating the site in many ways. We aren't ready announce any of our changes, or show off (thats unlike us, we're going to keep you guessing). But changes are in the midst, and coming soon!

Here are a few things you should know. First being, the site may appear down or problematic at some times. This is normal, as we are doing a lot of backend changes as well. Please don't mail us unless the site is down for more than an hour or so. We also won't be making too many (if any at all) updates so we don't stunt our movements.

Think you want to help us? Feel free to mail us!

The site suffered some downtime this week due to a server problem that resulted in a relocation of the site. We've since moved to a new, improved server, and are just getting the kinks out now. We apologize for the downtime. We will resume in full shortly after the wrinkles settle.
